The Eglantine Melita Buchanan-Gordon Scholarship honors Artistic Excellence

Eglantine Buchanan-Gordon awards Scholarship to Artist Nicole Winter

In honor of Eglantine Gordon, affectionately known as “Mama-G”, who stands as an example of academic excellence and commitment to community and family values, the Gordon family has established The Eglantine Melita Buchanan-Gordon Scholarship. This award will honor a student at Edna Manley College of the Visual & Performing Arts in Kingston, Jamaica and provide that student with an unrestricted cash award. Additionally, selected students will be mentored through Diaspora Vibe Cultural Arts Incubator in Miami and will be invited to participate in the DVCAI’s Artist in Residence Program, with an opportunity to exhibit in the ‘Off The Wall Experimental Series’ at Diaspora Vibe Gallery In Miami, Florida.

The 2009 Eglantine Scholarship was awarded to Nicole Winter, a student in the Edna Manley Ceramics Department.

Scholarship applications for 2010 will be available on this blog in November.
