Evoking a Caribbean
April - June 2012
The Caribbean as an archipelago situated in the belly
of the Americas. The region shares the five hundred year history of forced and
voluntary migrations, settlements and emigrations, resulting in the ambivalent
nature of what it means to be Caribbean. This body of work extends the common
geographical use of the word Caribbean to its people – thus I am Caribbean.
