Join us in this creative writing workshop and acquire the skills to produce empowering products such as journals, family trees, memory books, short stories and poetry.

Session One: Tell Your Story in Your Own Words
• Explore creative ways to harvest and share the gifts you carry within
• Explore crossing borders and rewrite notions of identity, friendship, family & success

Session Two: My Other Selves
• Use photos and personal objects as cues to access memories & lift up your voice
• Interrogate creative ways to express your political, ethnic & sexual self
• Explore the spiritual dimensions of identity & self expression

What are the selves that you are nurturing, or perhaps ignoring? How can you sustain and energize your multiple selves so that you stay true to you?

Dr. Marva McClean is an author who specializes in issues of genealogy, memory keeping and the art of self-expression.
